To register for NEET counselling 2021 first round, aspirants need to enter their personal, academic, NEET-UG, contact and other details. Students need to pay their NEET 2021 counselling registration fee online mode. During the MCC NEET counselling 2021, aspirants need to fill the choices of colleges as well as courses for admission.

After the registration process, NEET-UG seat allotment will be done on the basis of NEET scores, choices filled, seat availability, reservation criteria and others. Through NEET counselling, around 20,089 seats will be filled under 15% All India Quota (AIQ), all deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS institutes, AIIMS and JIPMER colleges.

NEET 2021 was held on September 12 for admission to 83,075 MBBS, 26,949 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, 603 BVSc & AH, 1,899 AIIMS and 249 JIPMER MBBS seats. The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the results for NEET 2021 at neet.nta.nic.in on November 1. When will NEET 2021 counselling start?
The counselling conducting authorities will announce the NEET 2021 counselling dates. As of now, for admission to government medical and dental colleges for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and 100% seats in deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS institutes, AIIMS, and JIPMER, MCC will announce the NEET counselling 2021 dates. Whereas, for 85% of state quota seats, state authorities will announce the NEET UG 2021 counselling dates.

Know the NEET 2021 counselling scheme for 15% AIQ

Authorities will conduct two rounds of AIQ online counselling i.e. Round 1 and Round 2. All candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank obtained in NEET UG result 2021, except the Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The rank letter/NEET 2021 result can be downloaded from the NTA website, ntaresults.nic.in. The NEET cutoff rank of eligible candidates will also be available on the MCC website (www.mcc.nic.in). The seats remaining vacant after round 2 NEET 2021 counselling of AIQ shall be sent back to the respective states.

NEET 2021 counselling scheme

100% Deemed University
  • There will be four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2 of AIQ and Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round.
  • Out of the four rounds, three rounds will be conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round.
  • The Stray Vacancy round shall be conducted by the respective Deemed Universities
AIIMS and JIPMER
  • There will be four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2 of AIQ and Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round for 18 AIIMS.
  • Out of the four rounds, three rounds will be conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round.
  • The Stray Vacancy round shall be conducted by AIIMS
ESIC
  • ESIC 15% seats would be allotted through All India Quota (Round one & two).
  • The remaining 85% seats shall be treated as state quota seats and will be open to all the candidates participating in the Mop-up Round.
Central University/institute
  • There will be four rounds of NEET 2021 counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2 of AIQ and Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round.
  • Out of the four rounds, three rounds will be conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round.
  • Stray Vacancy round shall be conducted by the respective Central University/Institute.

What is NEET Counselling 2021?

Admissions to MBBS/BDS courses under the AiQ, deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS colleges in the country is through the MCC counselling process on basis of NEET UG scores. Candidates who qualify NEET exam are eligible to apply for admissions to these medical courses. NTA NEET counselling is of two types- All India and State. NEET UG counselling process is for the following seats.

1. MCC Counselling for All India Quota Seats: Admissions to 15% seats in all Government medical and dental colleges, all seats of Deemed Universities/Central Universities/Seats of Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) & AFMC including Delhi University (DU), BHU, AMU, and AIIMS & JIPMER will be through the AIQ NEET 2021 counselling process. It is to be noted that J & K is not part of this process.

2. NEET UG Counselling for State Quota seats: Admissions to 85% of the seats in Government colleges of the state, all seats in private unaided/aided minority /non-minority medical/ dental colleges in the state will be through the state NEET counselling 2021 process.

What is the eligibility criteria for NEET counselling 2021?

  • Only NEET qualified candidates are eligible to apply for NEET 2021 counselling.

  • Jammu and Kashmir candidates will not be eligible to participate in All India NEET counselling unless they give their assent.

  • Candidates who have registered on MCC website for NEET 2021 counselling

  • All NEET qualified candidates are eligible to participate in the AIQ counselling for Deemed Universities.


NEET Counselling 2021 - Central University Eligibility Criteria

1) Delhi University (LHMC, UCMS, MAMC): - 15% seats for All India Quota & 85% institutional quota seats for candidates who have passed their 10+2 in Delhi.

2) Aligarh Muslim University (AMU):- 50% Institutional reservation for the AMU school candidates studying there for the last 3 years. Rest of the 50% of seats to All India candidates.

3) BHU:- Open to All India candidates

4) Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi: 3 BDS seats under the internal quota of JMI and 47 seats are open to All India quota candidates. Students who have passed their 10+ 2 from Jamia Schools can apply for internal quota.

5) VMMC & SJH : 15% seats for All India and rest as Institute Quota for students who have passed their 10+2 from Delhi.

NEET Counselling Process

MCC will conduct the counselling of NEET-UG 2021 at mcc.nic.in. There will be two rounds for NEET counselling for AIQ seats. While a mop-up round for NEET 2021 counselling will be held for deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS institutes, AIIMS and JIPMER. The step by step process is as follows:

Step by Step NEET 2021 Counselling Process in Detail

Step 1: Registration for NEET counselling - Qualified and eligible candidates must register at mcc.nic.in. They must fill their NEET roll number, registration number, name, mother's name, and date of birth. The next step is to pay the NEET counselling fee and security fee by Credit/Debit card or internet banking.

Step 2: Choice filling for NEET counselling - One of the big questions is how to fill choices in NEET counselling 2021? The answer is simple. Candidates must make a dummy sheet and put in their dream choices of colleges. They can use the NEET college predictor to know their chances as per past data and add those choices in. This list will be the basis of their choice filling for NEET counselling process 2021.

Step 3: NEET Seat Allotment - Once this is declared, candidates must log in and download their seat allotment letter. In the first round, free exit is available while in the second round, exit with forfeiture is available.

Step 4: Reporting to the Allotted College - A candidate must report at the designated college to complete the admission formalities after the seat allotment. It is not mandatory to join or report in the first round. However, candidates wishing to take the seat or upgrade to a higher choice must join and report. In the second round, however, seat allotment must be followed by reporting and joining unless candidates opt for the exit with forfeiture where they lose their security deposit. While reporting to the allotted college, candidates must submit the original copies of the specified documents.

What are the documents for NEET counselling 2021?

NRI/ OCI candidates appearing for Deemed Universities must submit the following documents

  • Passport copy of sponsored, embassy certificate
  • Sponsorship affidavit (stating that sponsorer is ready to bear the expenses for the whole duration of study)
  • Relationship Affidavit (Relation of Candidate with the sponsorer)

NEET Counselling 2021 - What is Free Exit and Exit with Forfeiture?

Free Exit (only for round 1) - If a candidate allotted a seat in round 1 does not report/join the allotted college, he/she would not be penalized (security deposit will not be forfeited ). Such candidates will be eligible for subsequent rounds.

Exit with forfeiture - If a candidate is allotted a seat in round 2 and does not want to join the allotted seat he/she can still exit with forfeiture (losing security amount deposited) within the given time period.

Candidates who have joined the allotted seat in the second round would not be eligible for resigning/surrender of the seat and will not be allowed to participate in state counselling either.

NEET 2021 Counselling - Mop Up Round for Deemed/ Central Universities/Central Institute

Step 1: Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

Step 6: List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of a number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.

Step 7: Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
